Joe Alter Shave and a Haircut is a plug-in for Maya, that creates extra realistic hair and fur surfaces. With this, you can create furry animals, grasses, haircuts, mustaches and so on. dude, there is no need to fill any survey. with time you will come to know what links to click and which ones should be ignore. =)

Its pretty easy, click on the link and once u get the survey page go to View-Page Source and u should be able to get the links from there…

Sorry, but I didn?t keep track of exactly everything I did. I think I installed da latest version of the plug-in (5.1) and I used a Keygen named: XF-Shave-Keygen.exe
BTW my request number didn?t come with a ?-?.
I copied da key.text file directly in da HD, also in:
users/Shared/
users/Shared/Shave (I created this directory manually, since it didn?t existed)
users/Shared/JoeAlter
users/Shared/JoeAlter/shaveHaircut
I don?t know what (or where) exacty makes it work, but don?t give up, I managed to do it!! Cheers!

If you use Mac OSX or Windows 7. (copy first 11 character with – )
Just simple, run Keygen in Windows Vista and generate a key.txt
On Windows 7 paste in \C:
I’m a Mac user.
On Mac paste in \user\Shared
– create \Shave \folder and paste into KEY.TXT
– paste into \JoeAlter\
– paste into \shaveHaircut\
– paste into \maya2011\
– paste into\samples\
Finaly ShaveAndHaircut works fine for me on Mac

I installed it like this, on Windows 7!
1. Install Shave And A Haircut.
2. Launch Maya, open the plugins manager and load shaveNode.mll
It will give you an error in the command responce. Open the Script Editor and copy the first 11 digits of the number.
3. Copy the Keygen provided to C:\ (so it would be c:\keygen.exe)
Be sure to do this.
4. ***IMPORTANT*** Open the keygen from this location as ADMINISTRATOR by right clicking
(it failed on me many times before I discovered this on a forum)
Enter the first 11 characters of your serial number (including the ?-? if there?s one).
Press enter and your keyfile will be saved in C:\key.txt (just leave it here).
5. Go back to Maya Plug-In Manager, load and enjoy!
(Also the first time I did this it failed to install and actually generated a new code in the error message left in the script editor, I used the first 11 digits of this new code, repeated step 4. and it worked
a treat second time round!)

The only executable file in the package is the keygen. There’s no install file whatsoever included after extracting the package. Is the download link above only for Mac? Any other versions around here?

ok, now here’s the real annoying problem. I got everything to work as it should, BUT: the key only works for a day. The next day I start up Maya, i get an error message when it tries to load the plugin, and i have to repeat the key generation process.
Anyone having the same problem and maybe a solution?

Works perfectly on win 7 x64 with Maya 2011… if u still have problems with registration, create your own key.txt on c:\ and don’t forget that if you have a “-” on your serial, it counts for the first of the 11 numbers you have to past on the keygen…
Since, i still have the following problem : i need to use the keygen every time i restart Maya and want to use the Shave&Haircut plugin (even with the autoload box chek in the plugin manager window)… any issue for that ??

It worked just fine for me! I am running windows 7, just have to remember, when you run windows 7 and vista, you have to run your cmd prompt as administrator (right click, run as), I know a lot of people that forget this step =)
