New Sculpting Tools

Vue 8.5 introduces 4 powerful new sculpting brushes: Pinch, Flatten, Plateau and UniSlope.

The Pinch brush brings the terrain features closer together, while the Flatten, Plateau and UniSlope brushes let you accurately control the slope of your terrains.

Zone Extraction

With Vue 8.5 you can extract a specific area of a procedural terrain with just one click! Simply select a zone and convert it to a separate procedural terrain.

This is ideal to create customized textures on specific areas.

Sculpt from References

You can now apply a bitmap to a terrain, and then view this bitmap inside the Terrain Editor as you sculpt the terrain.

This feature is particularly useful when recreating a terrain based on real world photo references.

It is also now possible to reset 2D and 3D sculpting independently – this feature is also available in the free Vue 8.4 update.

  7. DLed it and it came with an App for OSX installation but it doesn’t launch…

      • Nope, not working. Even a legal PLE wasn’t working very well. Personally I will wait for Vue 9 and it’s native 64bit awesomeness

  10. i made mistake pressed GEN SERIAL multiple times .
    now program doesnt accept the activation.
    even i deleted the reg file
    re- entered the first serial that come up the keygen.
    it doest work.
    i have single mac id so it is true all times

    what to do ?

  16. has any managed to download Vue for Cocoa 64 (mac) its a free beta download from the eon site but you have to have a registered vue 8 license to download it

    Serial is same as SETUP Serial ..
    Something wrong but ?! Activation Code is NOT working..
    I tried unINSTALL and reinstall again but same problem ..
    Activation ERROR ?
    Checked the MAC address and using the “ipconfig /all” command and it is correct..

  22. this is the problematic release like first 8.5 PLE release, corrupted scenes after saving, some trees crashing the maya. etc.. Same errors from first PLE release, that the e-onsoftware has replaced quickly. (using in maya 2010 and 2011)

  39. hye guys i just installed vue 8.5 and reopened it and a massage pops up saying “the tempororay dir is protected vue 8.5 is unable to use. Please remove write protection on temp directory/privite/tmp”. how do i solve this?

      • I’m also getting the same message, someone PLEASE help…I’m sure it’s one of those 1 minute fixes.

          • For those having trouble with the /private dir being protected, go to the go drop down in finder then go to folder – then type /private and the folder will appear. navigate to where it tells you it is blocked something like /priavte/tmp/home/eon and then right click and get info on the eon folder. then unlock the little lock in the bottom right corner and then turn all of the access to read and write and that should do it.

            It fixed it for me.

    I have tried all my mac address from the command prompt but all of them return the same error ?invalid activation code?, i’m using windows vista x64

    btw i have tried both the 64 bits and 32 bits, always the same problem (?invalid activation code?)

    any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated
