vol1
In this first of two DVDs, Cameron Davis discusses character design at its most fundamental. He begins with basic design theory, color and shape, and shows how to use them to visually tell a story with a character. Beginning with a loose story, Cameron takes you through his thought process when designing for games or animation. From brainstorming to loose sketching, reference gathering and silhouette studies, Cameron shows all the stages of ideation and ends with a finished line drawing that is ready for color.

comic
In this DVD, Phil Noto shows you his illustration techniques for creating comic book covers and pinups. Using a completely digital workflow, you will see how he goes from a preliminary sketch to finished art. He demonstrates how he uses Adobe Photoshop? for sketching and coloring, and Smith Micro Manga Studio? for inking the art, while discussing the benefits of each program’s toolset. Phil covers topics such as line quality, silhouette, proportions, Photoshop layer and channel management, color palette, brush selection, lighting and texture. Throughout the lecture Phil shows how he balances line, light, color and details to refine his illustration.

Releases: 06/30/10
Genre: Video training

Join Rob Garrott in CINEMA 4D: Designing a Promo as he demonstrates how to create a 15-second promotional video that looks and feels like a professional advertisement. Learn how to use a combination of CINEMA 4D, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator to go from concept to script to screen, creating sketches, adding animation, and rendering the final promo. This course focuses on real-world techniques, culminating in a finished, usable product. Exercise files accompany the course.

Screenshot:

Topics include:

* Project planning, covering the scripting and initial drawings
* Using hand-drawn artwork in After Effects to time the animation
* Creating text and logo elements
* Animating the camera
* Organic modeling techniques
* Rigging models for animating
* Fine-tuning animation timing
* Adding realistic textures
* Lighting and shading techniques
* Rendering and compositing a finished animation

Vue and Maya integration

This tutorial provides extensive training on e-on Vue 7 xStream and Autodesk Maya 2009 integration. In this tutorial we will:
Create Infinite Terrain and customize its material with the Material Editor.
Setup the lighting and atmosphere using the Atmosphere Editor.
Use Global Radiosity for indirect lighting optimized for animation.
Configure Vue scene for animation inside Maya.
Optimize Maya?s workspace for animation and efficient integration with Vue.
Substitute Vue OpenGL preview with Maya IPR.
Use Maya Dynamics to add particle simulation effects to our animation.
Batch render the scene in separate layers with Maya.
Composite multi layered renders in After Effects.
Add final touch to the renders like color correction, camera shake, motion blur etc.

Hairtrix Ver 1.7.0.81 For 3DsMax 2011 x32Bit & x64Bit

Hairtrix consists of two formerly independent plug-ins, hairfx and Ornatrix that can now be used in concert to create amazing hair and fur effects. Both Ornatrix and hairfx are production-proven hair creation and simulation tools for 3ds Max and they provide users with a multitude of advanced tools for creating realistic hair and fur, and simulating its movement.

Cure your creatures? and characters? baldness by applying the Hairtrix to any 3D geometry in your scene, and within seconds, you?ve got a lush sprouting of everything from short stubble to long silky hair that can be further refined and styled. In any 3ds Max viewport, users can then interactively push, pull, comb and cut Hairtrix hair to match their characters? needs. Need your character to look like they just got out of bed? Then layer some frizz and randomness to the hairstyle in seconds. Want wet, matted hair for your creature? No problem, just apply spacewarps like gravity as well as complex specular hair shaders to achieve the look you?re after.

Just check out this extensive list of features that Hairtrix offers:

Brush-based hair combing directly within the 3ds Max viewports
Multiple dynamics engines (including Aegia PhysX) allow for complex motion to be created quickly for hair
Cloth Mesh converter provides support for built-in cloth and SimCloth3 dynamics
Advanced anti-aliasing engines for clean renders
Full mental ray support
Improved Surface Distribution dialogs allow new ways to derive parameters from the emitter surfaces
Random Distribution curve controls allow the user to define the exact distribution of a parameter over its range
Better and more flexible export of hair to external plug-in tools and MAXScript.
Improved anti-aliasing through a new thick strand renderer
Rendering in buckets of any size and order to lower memory usage and allow for better integration with ray tracers like finalRender and VRay
Unique channel-based system allows for total control over visual properties of hair and fur including Vertex Color manipulation for real-time changes
Multiple hair specific materials allow for a full control over the final look of your hair
Atmospheric render controls allow users to balance render speed with quality output of their hair and fur creations
Multiple hair modifiers allow layering of effects such as Frizz, Curliness, Direction, Clustering, Strand Detail and much more…….
