If you can’t figure out the install, most likely you are not bright enough to figure out Houdini either. a very very steap learning curve on this app.

2 all who has problems installing this app. I remember the same problems with 10.0 but forgot how i solved them. Now i remembered =) The only thing i do wrong – i hate windows explorer and i use Total Commander ! =)
Total Commandr just dont see the sesinetd.exe in System32 folder (some sort of administrative rights and other shit beyond my retarded brain=)) You must copy craked sesinetd.exe to system32 folder with windows explorer – it correctly see the file and owerwrite it with cracked one.From that point everything worked as it should. Just started the app on Win7 64, all is working well. Hope this helps. Cheers

You should have (11) eleven codes to enter. [color=#FF0000]one SERVER [/color]and [color=#FF0000]ten LICENSE[/color] codes.
you only have 5 slots in the license admin, manual-key-install-window, so just copy and paste from the text window to the license window until all slots are full.
click accept and go back to the ‘manually enter keys…’ and copy some more in from the text document.
if you get errors, then you probably have skipped a step above. just quit the license admin app. do steps 22, 23, & 24 and then try to install your generated codes again.
29. you are done. houdini is yours. you just hacked an [color=#FF0000]$8000[/color] app! now you have to learn to use it. LOL that is the hardest part.
now just quit the license admin app and launch houdini!
notes:
if you sign up for a free account on sidefx.com then you will have access to the /support/downloads/ area.
scroll down for the daily builds and new versions. if you choose to install a new version , then the codes from your text document will work on all versions of 11.0.xxx
you must completely uninstall and completely delete all previous license codes (steps 22 and 23) and reinstall the new build.

Hey i have followed this tutorial step by step! It keeps saying it cannot connect to the hserver when i go to administrative key app. I dont know what i am doing wrong. i have tried EVERYTHING. please help. thank you!
now that i feel bad, i googled up 4 possible problems you wintel guys have.
1) copy your codes into NOTEPAD not anything else. they need to be PLAIN ASCII TEXT
2) some peeps forget to install one of the codes generated. one SERVER and ten LICENSE codes.
3) truetype fonts can kill a launch. see this thread near the bottom of page:

i had the previous version working fine, uninstalled it.. now whats happening is :
– cant start the HoudiniLicenseServer from the services with the new sesinetd, and infact sesnietd doesnt show up in the processes as it should.
– using the old sesinetd.exe (v10.0.595) i can start the licenseserver, it also accepts the keys generated. so the keys are installed this or that way
– still using the old version of sesinetd.exe, can’t start houdini, i get the error 3dnuwan mentioned..
– so copied back the new sesinetd, and now the houdini cant start because the license server wont start…

Hi installed no probs on XP Pro SP 3 x86. Only issue had that need to come out of Houdini once installed licences. Just followed instructions can only assume issues with peoples individual setup possible OS issue.
note:ive only installed Server and a couple of licences instructions say’s install 5 licences ???

then run houdini in compatibility mode with windows vista service pack 2.
should run fine then.

if you can’t start the licence server on windows 7(x64) you must copy the crack in the 32 bit folder to “windows\sytem32”. 64 bit crack doesn’t work but 32 bit crack does the job.

houdini is a great app but there are so few learning resources.
Successfully Installed Win 7 x64, no problems at all.
The only thing I have not working is the Help Page in Houdini. I’ve been getting the same thing since version 10. Every time I try to open the “help” from a node or the Example Files (under the help tab) I get a gray blank browser window with no info at all. Does anybody have the same problem??

I managed to install the 10 LICENCE keys. But the SERVER key in the first field is not installing.
Server information says ? The licence server may not serve licenses?

Installed just like version 10. No problems. Just make sure if, you have a previous version on your computer, to turn off both Houdini services before you start installing. Thanks.
It will install just fine but as soon as I try and launch the license administrator server it wont “connect” just get “Windows could not start the HoudiniLicenseServer service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly” whenever I try to start the service. Copying the sesinted.exe goes fine. Any help is great

28. from the text document copy the 1st key and paste it into the 1st slot in the license admin window.

You should have (11) eleven codes to enter. [color=#FF0000]one SERVER [/color]and [color=#FF0000]ten LICENSE[/color] codes.
you only have 5 slots in the license admin, manual-key-install-window, so just copy and paste from the text window to the license window until all slots are full.
click accept and go back to the ‘manually enter keys…’ and copy some more in from the text document.
if you get errors, then you probably have skipped a step above. just quit the license admin app. do steps 22, 23, & 24 and then try to install your generated codes again.
29. you are done. houdini is yours. you just hacked an [color=#FF0000]$8000[/color] app! now you have to learn to use it. LOL that is the hardest part.
now just quit the license admin app and launch houdini!
notes:
if you sign up for a free account on sidefx.com then you will have access to the /support/downloads/ area.
scroll down for the daily builds and new versions. if you choose to install a new version , then the codes from your text document will work on all versions of 11.0.xxx
you must completely uninstall and completely delete all previous license codes (steps 22 and 23) and reinstall the new build.

now that i feel bad, i googled up 4 possible problems you wintel guys have.
1) copy your codes into NOTEPAD not anything else. they need to be PLAIN ASCII TEXT
2) some peeps forget to install one of the codes generated. one SERVER and ten LICENSE codes.
3) truetype fonts can kill a launch. see this thread near the bottom of page:

i had the previous version working fine, uninstalled it.. now whats happening is :
– cant start the HoudiniLicenseServer from the services with the new sesinetd, and infact sesnietd doesnt show up in the processes as it should.
– using the old sesinetd.exe (v10.0.595) i can start the licenseserver, it also accepts the keys generated. so the keys are installed this or that way
– still using the old version of sesinetd.exe, can’t start houdini, i get the error 3dnuwan mentioned..
– so copied back the new sesinetd, and now the houdini cant start because the license server wont start…

Hi installed no probs on XP Pro SP 3 x86. Only issue had that need to come out of Houdini once installed licences. Just followed instructions can only assume issues with peoples individual setup possible OS issue.
note:ive only installed Server and a couple of licences instructions say’s install 5 licences ???
if you have the 3708: Fatal error: Segmentation Fault error
then run houdini in compatibility mode with windows vista service pack 2.
should run fine then.
well i checked the error, its 4800 segmentation fault…so compatibilty doesnt work for me. thanks
it worked for me just persevere,the knowledge is worth it
if you can’t start the licence server on windows 7(x64) you must copy the crack in the 32 bit folder to “windows\sytem32”. 64 bit crack doesn’t work but 32 bit crack does the job.

houdini is a great app but there are so few learning resources.
Successfully Installed Win 7 x64, no problems at all.
The only thing I have not working is the Help Page in Houdini. I’ve been getting the same thing since version 10. Every time I try to open the “help” from a node or the Example Files (under the help tab) I get a gray blank browser window with no info at all. Does anybody have the same problem??

I thought it was a firewall issue, but I have disabled it and I still get the
same thing. And I don’t think is a Graphics card issue as the window does work when I use it as a browser to go to the sidefx webpage

I managed to install the 10 LICENCE keys. But the SERVER key in the first field is not installing.
Server information says ? The licence server may not serve licenses?
another msg is ?the license server does not have a valid license key?

Installed just like version 10. No problems. Just make sure if, you have a previous version on your computer, to turn off both Houdini services before you start installing. Thanks.
It will install just fine but as soon as I try and launch the license administrator server it wont “connect” just get “Windows could not start the HoudiniLicenseServer service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly” whenever I try to start the service. Copying the sesinted.exe goes fine. Any help is great
Same error 1067. It worked well but then houdinilicenseserver began to shut down with that error. Reinstalled – all the same.
