  1. Does anyone have as little respect for C4D and its users as much as I do?

    • people with no skill at it tend to think so….. see aixsponza’s work n shut ur mouth

      • great point though ******looking at the below post…
i strive to surpass that stereotype though.

    • My name Is (Hatem) I am from “Libya” and I use Max, Maya, Zbrush, and Cinema 4d. “Cinema 4d” better than other applications, and I really love and respect this wonderful application.
especially “mograph”, “body paint”, and not at last “expressero”. To me this is the most wanted application.

to the all incapable ignorant kids: shut the F@%* up.

    • The only defense you have towards my comment is to insult me. Goes to show you felt offended by my comment because you knew I was right;) If you really love CG and want to do something with your life other than selling yourself to money “business”. Than you would’ve taken the extra effort to learn Maya or 3D Max or even XSI and Lightwave.

But all C4D users care about, are presets and money. Sorry but it’s true. If you do end up in a studio, you’ll have to dress how ever they tell you to, or learn any of the programs mentioned above. Good luck in life, you’ll need it.

      • Hahahah are you serious? Apps like max and maya aren’t full of presets, plugins and any kind of helps? Do you know Mograph? If you don’t end up in a studio maybe you don’t.
Really you don’t know what are you talking about.
        Good luck you too, seriously.

        • i use maya daily on international commercials. ive used c4d and been very impressed with it. id switch frankly, but im addicted to renderman for maya and dont have replacement yet for cinema. cinema is an incredibly flexible and creative environment. dont be misled by all the shitty cube animations, its way better than that

      • Well i was a hardcore C4D user but now am making the step towards using different softwares like Maya for example. I plan on learning as much 3D softwares as i can because that shit looks awesome on my resume ;)

    • thank you for your upload.
      BUT
i cannot load project scene file. it crashes c4d.
would you teach me about this?

  4. presets what presets i wish there were some .guys c4d is the real thing and after all said its the artist not the software,
    peace

    • Agreed. I am learning C4D and Bodypaint too along with others, so I am supporting no ones comment. “Pete” and “umm” were fighting like kids and that’s what made me laugh, grow up guys.

  5. Hi,

i don?t think that tutorials are made for professionals. People who worked daily with software like c4d, maya and so on don?t need this. I like graphics and i like to see what?s possible. after effects, c4d, photoshop… even pencil. you guys know what a pencil is?
Its true Rumey. its the artist not the software…

    Thanks CG.

  6. Thanks for sharing and keep it up. No matter how professional an individual are – there’s always something new to learn!

  7. @blaserunner – C4D has a renderman connection ever since R11, so you can use any render engine you want with c4d you even have MR with iRay (although its still WIP)

    • yeah ive used cineman with 3delight but i found the scene translation too slow…..i dont have pixar rms so havent been able to test that…renderman for maya is sooooo frikkin fast to render it puts everything to shame

  8. If anyone is still reading this thread, take a minute to look back at all the comments that support C4D. Did you happen to notice the lack of grammar? What does that say about the person/user. Here are a few hints for those that don’t catch on: lazy, unread, uneducated, undetermined, all in all, money slave.

I’ve personally known a few C4D users, I would never associate my selves with them. Same with Mac users, they don’t know what they want so they follow the crowd.

  9. wtf?!!! its just a tool like any other, how u use it its what makes you good or not,, btw its very comon to see maya users under maxons body paint….what an ass hole

  10. Personally i prefer cinema4d, I have full control in 3ds max, Houdini, Maya and cinema4d and of them all cinema4d is the most organized 3d piece of software I have used. It is this being organized that makes people think is easy and yet it is actually complex. You start simple then take things to complexity and of course if you were to put cinema4d with the rest of other 3d software c4d is blazing fast yet I personally don’t use any presets and in any case I have been enable to beat my deadlines 100% with c4d than with maya, 3ds max and houdini and of course time is money.
It does not hide tools in hidden dialogues or script. The only thing I have found poorly implemented are realistic skin shader, subsurface scattering materials.
It is also true that most cinema4d users want presets and are lazy 3 artist but if you have come from a background of the likes of Maya, 3ds max ,Houdini you will definitely work faster with cinema4d. It lets you concentrate on art instead of technicalities. If you are technical director c4d is not crippled either because you have python, c++, coffee, expresso to push the limits of the software and it provides an easy plug-ins development process. That nowadays there are many mash rooming powerful plugins being developed for cinema4d. eg vray, dpit (for smoke ,fire and water.) This kind of progress has put cinema4d at the number one motion graphics software, texturing software, and pretty soon the most sought after software for film. If you say well it does not have paint effects like Maya well Maya does not have mo-graph which creates a versatility of unmatched effects like( molecules, debris breaking, chains, trails, city generation, traffics simulation, even for plant creation). I can say cinema4d has in build Doppler sounds effects which helps create 3d sound (5.1,7.2 surround) and this is absent in Maya or 3ds max. Cinema4d has a wealth of features which need unleashing by the right artist who is creative and knows this software in and out but not just preset user.
